The Morrison Family
June 16, 2018
This family shoot was a really cool one. Get this – mom (Terry) is the aunt of two of the kids I used to babysit when I lived in NYC!! How very small the world is.
When Terry first reached out to me and expressed interest in an outdoor shoot, I mentioned to her how I had always wanted to do a shoot at Ponce City Market in the Old Fourth Ward Park. Funny enough, she had family ties to the area…her brother owned a business there and she mentioned that it held a special place in her heart.
One of my favorite things that I do is provide an instant camera that I call my “big sister/big brother” camera. (You’ll notice Jax has it in the bottom picture, catching a picture of mom and dad!) The kids always get to take a few shots with it and then the pictures are their’s to take home at the end of the day. I always wind up getting a shot of the “cameraman/woman” taking the instant pictures and it makes for some really special moments.
I can’t wait to work with this sweet family again, and I really can’t wait to see the kids grow and change, and love each other more and more. They truly are a one of a kind family.
